SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR 'LUNCH ON THE GREEN' - THE LAUNCH OF A NEW PROJECT IN KNOWLE WEST, CALLED 'UNIVERSITY OF LOCAL KNOWLEDGE'
'University of Local Knowledge' (ULK) celebrates the skills, talents and local knowledge that exist within the communities of Knowle West.
The launch will be in the form of a lunch on Saturday 26 June, on Filwood Broadway, and we're hoping that 150+ local residents will join us to kick start ULK. We need a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help ensure that the day runs smoothly.
In particular, we're looking for people to help with...
- Food preparation - Stewarding - Helping set up Filwood Broadway - marquee and decoration - Waiting tables - Clearing up
It will be a great opportunity for people to meet others in the community and give something back, to celebrate the talents and knowledge of people in Knowle West whilst having fun, and to learn more about this project and the team behind it.
We'll be having a meeting for all volunteers at Knowle West Media Centre at 4.30pm on Wednesday 23 June for all volunteers, when we will be discussing specific roles, timings etc.
Even if people have only got a hour or two to help out, please consider volunteering - it would be really helpful and encourage a great community spirit. If people are interested in being involved, can they please let me know prior to the meeting on 23 June, by either emailing me through this email address, or by phoning 0117 9030444, and asking to speak to Sophie.
Hope to hear from you soon!
